Hello, Arkansas! I’m excited to connect with you and share an update about what’s happening at Cox. Earlier this year, Cox announced its commitment of $400 million to bring symmetrical gigabit broadband connectivity to more than 100,000 unserved and underserved households in communities across the country including here in Arkansas. In addition, Cox is working with cities through public-private partnerships to achieve their strategic connection objectives. These efforts are part of a broader multibillion-dollar annual infrastructure investment to deliver a 10 gigabit-capable, fiber-based network. If you want to learn more about how we’re continuing efforts to expand fiber to the home, I encourage you to reach out to me.
How cable providers protect against cyber attacks
From phishing schemes to data breaches, cybersecurity is a crucial piece of your online activity. As an Internet Service Provider (ISP), Cox is consistently monitoring cyber threats to keep our network and customers safe. The National Cable & Telecommunications Association recently shared how ISPs are continually protecting customers in the digital age.
As we head into the winter months, we know that the weather in Arkansas can be unpredictable. We also understand how frustrating it can be when severe weather and power outages interrupt our customers’ services. That’s why our technicians are ready to assist as soon as it’s safe to do so. As we plan ahead for winter weather, here are some steps for customers to take to ensure they’re protected in case of an outage.
Across the U.S., Cox is committed to ensuring digital equity for all. NTIA’s recent biannual Internet Use Survey continues to confirm just how important it is for our community members to have internet at home. Through our Affordable Connectivity Program, our company can connect more low-income households than ever before with reliable, high-speed internet to meet the unique needs of all eligible customers. Eligible households can receive up to $30 off their current internet service, including equipment costs.
Each year, Cox contributes millions in cash and in-kind dollars to support schools and nonprofits in the communities we serve, and the economic upside of having Cox as your neighbor goes much further. Here’s an eye-opening snapshot, as reported by an independent consultant, of Cox’s impact here locally.
